ECRM Imagesetter:
Imagesetting is traditionally one of the first
steps in getting a job ready for printing. The
EGX Digital Print uses top-flight ECRM imagesetters
to output spot or four-color separations at up
to 2540 dpi on film. These images are then used
to create plates for final printing. Trapping
(a method by which a printer ensures that color
pictures don't have unsightly white gaps), digital
photo retouching, and file archiving round out
imagesetting services. And of course, expert operators
watch everything to ensure that jobs are output
correctly the first time, every time.
EGX Digital Print is monitoring progress in advanced
imagesetting technologies like stochastic screening
and HiFi Color (i.e. using more than four colors
to print an image) and will introduce these new
services as they become practical and useful.
